Goddesses have been linked with virtues such as beauty, love, sexuality, motherhood, creativity, and fertility.

Athena was the goddess of reason, wisdom, and war. She famously sprung fully formed from the forehead of Zeus. This seven day pilates program gives you the elements of the earth with self mastery to be your own powerful woman using movement to improve mind and body confidence.

Course Duration: 80 minutes.

Day 1:

Space is a basic art element that refers to the distance between the area around and within shapes, forms, colours, and lines. Everything in nature is made up of five basic elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. Knowledge of the five elements allows the yogi to understand the laws of nature and to use yoga to attain greater health, power, knowledge, wisdom and happiness. This arises out of deep intuition of how the universe operates.

Day 2:

The element of air represents the capacity for motion or kinetic energy. Air represents all forces and the movement that transpires as a result of those forces. The origin of air is sparsha.

Day 3:

Here we work on the element earth, also known as pritvi. Earth represents traits of sensations, patience, stability, strength, health, grounding and centering of energies, promoting peace, fertility, money, business success, stability, warmth, comfort and physical labour. The element, Earth is associated with the Late Summer season and with dampness.

Day 4:

Oxygen, heat, and fuel are frequently referred to as the “fire triangle”. Add in the fourth element, the chemical reaction, and you actually have a fire “tetrahedron”. The important thing to remember is: take any of these four things away, and you will not have a fire or the fire will be extinguished. Here we use the breath and heat of the body to create results in our body and mind. Determination and will-power will spurn you forwards…

Day 5:

Looking at the element water. We link this in to the flow of life. Water is the element of emotion and wisdom, particularly the wisdom of age. It represents a time past the peak of livelihood, moving toward the end of the cycle.

Day 6:

A lyrical undulating flow inspired form the work of James de Silva, Garuda Pilates.

Day 7:

Looking at the original lineage of pilates. We use dynamic movement to give us power, control, confidence and precision.
