✨ We all behave, act, and respond in line with our core values.

💡 What is important to us may not be important to another person.

There are so many positives 🌟 to be seen in a booming Pilates industry, such as:

🧘‍♀️ Making it accessible to everyone

🏪 Most of Joe Public had never heard of Pilates before Aldi

🏃‍♂️ Lots of people are starting to exercise

🏢 Vacant premises from COVID are being used for studios

👩‍🏫👷‍♂️💻 Lots of jobs for teachers, software companies, building trade, etc.

👦➡️🧘‍♂️ The youth of today are at the Pilates studio rather than the pub

🏁 Competition — which makes us all upscale and improve

But there is also another side… 😕

💬 I am constantly approached by teachers who want to train but are looking to cut corners ✂️ and choose the fastest approach 🏃‍♀️💨.

Without knowing it, they not only devalue themselves, but also devalue the benefits that only occur after dedication and time ⏳.

⏱️ Teachers are pushing me to cut:

  • In-house teaching hours
  • Observation hours
  • Self-practice hours
  • In-house learning hours

🎓 Some just want a piece of paper with their name on it, rather than earning it.

Few are willing to do the pre-requisite work 📚, show up, shop around, and truly research the system 🔍.

Now remember — Pilates teacher training is not there to teach you Pilates 🙅‍♀️🧘‍♀️.

It’s there to teach you how to teach 🎤👩‍🏫.

So, if you’re thinking of training with me, I’ll always ask you to:

1️⃣ Take a class or private first

2️⃣ See if this is really what you want to do

3️⃣ Ask yourself — is this your heart? ❤️

4️⃣ Are you passionate enough to stick with it in times of adversity? 💪

🧘‍♂️ When I trained with the British Wheel of Yoga, it was a three-year course. I stuck with it.

Yes, I struggled with my mobility 🤕, but it was about who I became, not just what I got 🛤️➡️🎯.

That course included:

🧠 Education in how to teach

🎭 Learning styles

📖 Education demands

As many of you know, I’ve teamed up with Mbodies 🤝 to deliver outstanding Pilates teacher training, especially our apprenticeship 👏.

But I have my own standard:

✅ You have to show up

✅ You have to do the work

❌ I will not take your money if I don’t think you’re the right fit

✅ I’ll recommend another school if that’s best for you

So… what is important to YOU? 🤔💬

If you were studying any profession — college, university, etc. — you’d be expected to do:

🏫 In-house learning

🏠 At-home learning

🎓 In-house practice teaching

⏳ In-house practice hours

🪞 Self-reflection

👀 Observation

Here are some thoughts form the amazing Julie Driver, click here:

“It is not about division — it’s about raising the standard in the UK, all showing up and doing what you said you would…” 🌍💪

🗓️ Our next apprenticeship starts September 2025.
